Olimpia struggled to finish the game in the fourth quarter but still found a way to beat Brescia 84-82 in the Trofeo Lombardia’s semifinal. Olimpia started the game stuttering against a team with  lot of energy and enthusiasm, went down by 13 before regaining control. Still, anytime Olimpia made its move to get away, Brescia found a way to respond. In the third and early in the fourth, finally, Olimpia looked potent and sharp, took an 18-point lead and everything seemed secure. Not so fast. Brescia’s three Americans scored 51 points combined (Olimpia’s former forward David Moss had 19) and with Luca Vitali’s all around game they came back with 14-0 run and then went within one and had the shot to force overtime with Lee Moore. He missed as the buzzer sounded. Basically, Olimpias ran out of gas playing without four regulars (Ricky Hickman, Alessandro Gentile, Rakim Sanders and Milan Macvan). More thn anything else, its had a very short rotation in the front-line. Coach Repesa had to use Bruno Cerella as a nominal power forward for most of the game to complete the rotation. He did a great defensive job over Marcus Landry. Kruno Simon was definitely the best player on the court scoring 28 points with five threes. Olimpia will play the final on Sunday against Cremona, the very same match-up of the Supercup semifinal to be played in Milano, next Saturday.
