Olimpia dominated Virtus Bologna once more on its way to a 94-75 win. In the process, it was able to overcome many adversities because on top of not having available Nemanja Nedovic, Kaleb Tarczewski and Andrea Cinciarini, Olimpia lost after a terrific first quarter (he had 12 points and five rebounds) also Mike James (hyperextension of the right elbow, he was kept on the bench the rest of the night). With only one point-guard to go for three periods and many foul troubles (Vlado Micov, Alen Omic, Chris Burns), Coach Pianigiani had to be creative while handling his rotations. He had to implement many never-seen-before line-ups with Jeff Brooks playing at center, Vlado Micov at off-guard and also Amedeo Della Valle at the point. “It was probably a world-record, this late in the season to be forced to use so many never-seen before lineups, but the guys responded every time. When Mike went down we had a couple of minutes of confusion, because it was too early in the game and we couldn’t pace ourselves, but then we started to play our basketball again”, Coach Pianigiani said. Curtis Jerrells had an impressive game, scoring 16 points with four assists, six players scored in double figure and Simone Fontecchio scored 14 points going 5 for 7 from the field.
