Olimpia lost 89-83 at home, when Cantù took control of the game late. Milan couldn’t keep a six and five-point leads in the fourth quarter. Cantù took the lead for good, extended it to three on a Andrea Pecchia’s lay-up. Milan had two chances to tie the score once more, with Sergio Rodriguez, but he couldn’t convert. Olimpia’s first half was bad, Cantù was up by 12 at the half. The third quarter was very different, Olimpia canceled the deficit in a matter of minutes and led for most of the fourth quarter. Luis Scola scored 21 points, Vlado Micov added 20 and Cinciarini made a huge three down the stretch. But collectively it was not a good game. “We are aware that all the credibility we enjoyed at the start of the season has gone. Now, there are two roads we can possibly take: we are facing self destruction or we are going to find a way to change the trend and move in the right direction. We are going to try to change,” Coach Ettore Messina said at the end.
