Olimpia dominated the game in Varese leading from the beginning and cruising to a comfortable 94-61 win. Olimpia led by 18 points at the half, getting away after a couple of consecutive threes made by Lorenzo Brown (13 points and six assists) followed by another one scored by Devin Booker, who finished with seven points and 11 rebounds. In the third quarter, Varese went all-out trying to diminish the gap early but never got closer than 13 points. Then Shavon Shields made two threes and Leandro Bolmaro, who had another very consistent, all-around game (11 points, five boards, four dimes), added a corner three and a thunderous dunk. From that point on, the game was a no-contest. Coach Ettore Messina used all his 12 players, didn’t ask anything too severe to anybody. and all of them scored. To respond to Varese’s quickness, Messina used a smallball starting line-up with Shields at the 4 sharing minutes at that spot with Pippo Ricci (six and six). Quinn Ellis, who started next to Lorenzo Brown, had 12 points, five rebounds and six assists. Armoni Brooks came off the bench to lead all the scorers with 20 points.
