Olimpia averaged 90 points per game in Cagliari on its way to conquer the local tournament. Bayern was missing a lot of players but most of the time used its regulars and was a tough out. Olimpia led for the length of the game essentially before closing it 89-75. When Bayern went all-out in the fourth quarter, while Olimpia was sharing minutes playing with three small players and Diop at the 5, Coach Messina called his starters back and closed the game out. Lorenzo Brown with a three-point play finished the game and won the MVP award after scoring 14 points and dishing six assists. Olimpia won the rebounding battle 39-29 and struggled only with some unforced turnovers and three-point shooting, 9 for 27. Brooks and Mannion however combined for seven made threes. Coach Messina was able to play 11 players. Vlatko Cancar in his debut made some good things. Generally, Olimpia had a very promising game using depth and versatility despite missing some crucial players including Josh Nebo who was rested as part of his recovery program.
