Olimpia had another oustanding offensive game up its sleeves. Survived the first punch executed by Reggio Emilia’s sharpshooter Amedeo Della Valle and then took the game under control. Mostly, Olimpia was the aggressor. It dominated the boards, executed well offensively and kept the defensive intensity very high. In the fourth Reggio Emilia had to surrender. Alessandro Gentile had another offensive show scoring 23 points, picking up his spots and finally shooting 9 for 10 from the field. He missed the first shot and made the next nine. He wasn’t alone in an outstanding collective effort underscored by Rakim Sanders playing like a man possessed at both ends of the floor. He harassed the great Kaukenas forcing him into a marginal night and was terrific also  at the offensive end.  Mantas Kalnietis and Oliver Lafayette took turns at killing Reggio Emilia’s defensive effort. ” Now we are 2-0 but the next game will be different. They play better at home wherr they won six playoff games and never lost. We need to be ready in their house. We changed a little bit the game plan after game 1 because we wanted to keep the intensity level at a very high level because I knew eventually they would have to give up. And the did”, Coach Repesa said at the end.
