A tough week is going to the books and now for Olimpia it is time to get back on track. Thursday’s game vs Monaco left some bitterness to swallow because the team competed, dominated most of the game with its defense but couldn’t get the win. Now, there is another road game, in the Italian game, and is crucial to regain some confidence. Traditionally, it is never easy in Brindisi. The arena is small, the local fanbase is very passionate and supports its team incessantly, the team is winless in the Italian league so will play with a clear sense of urgency that Olimpia will have to match, at least. Brindisi replaced the coach that started the season with the veteran Dragan Sakota, who is bringing an enormous level of experience. The team is counting on a veteran center who can hit a shot from the perimeter, JaJuan Johnson, some excellent guards like the Polish international Tomas Kyzlinski, Jamel Morris and an emerging big man, Jordan Bayehe. “We expect a very motivated and aggressive team after the coaching change that they made. However, at this time it is more important for us to look at ourselves and execute better offensively and defensively,” Coach Mario Fioretti. Olimpia will give Nikola Mirotic a game to rest after the heavy workload sustained over the week and the tendon inflammation that bothered him for a few days.
