With the EuroLegue season in the rearview mirror, Olimpia will focus on the Italian league starting with this game in Treviso, a crucial one for playoffs’ seedings. Olimpia currently sits in second place tied with Bologna who has the tiebreak advantage, one win behind Brescia. This the next to last road game. The next two will be at home, the second against league-leading Brescia. Safe to say: every position from the first to the fourth is still up for grabs. Unfortunately, Olimpia has to play one more time with short rest and during the last week three players became temporarily not available: Devon Hall, Maodo Lo and Nikola Mirotic. So, the turnover among the foreigners is irrelevant. Three guards including newcomer Denzel Valentine and three bigs will support the six Italians on the team. On top of it, Treviso is deperately looking for a win to avoid relegation, but it is a team better than the record indicates. After losing the first nine games, Treviso won 10 of the next 17, a playoff-caliber pace. “After the losing streak at the beginning, they played at a very efficient level – assistant coach Mario Fioretti said – We have to defend well on the guards in multiple situations.”
