Olimpia got the job done in its quarterfinal game against Treviso. 108-60 was the final score in a game that Olimpia controlled early and dominated at the end. Obviously, the job was made easier by the many Treviso players who missed the game. “It is not a game I need to comment, because we respect them so much and they were coming off a fantastic week. I want to congratulate them for qualifying to the BCL and I’m sorry they had to play under these circumstances, their young guys were very good, they kept their energy level high, never gave up. We played seriously, and took advantage of the game to improve our familiarity,” Coach Ettore Messina said. Treviso, in spite of the many absences, hit the ground running making five threes in the first five minutes and stayed in the game. Then, Olimpia made six steals in the first period, started to run, shot at a high level and was more efficient defensively. After one quarter, the lead was 17 points. From that point on, the margin gradually increased. Davide Alviti led the scorers with 18 points; Dinos Mitoglou added 11 rebounds to his 15 points; Gigi Datome went 3-for-3 from three-point range. Olimpia didn’t play Riccardo Moraschini to let him recover from a sore back, following a dangerous fall in practice a few days ago. Olimpia will play its semifinals against Brindisi on Monday.
