In its return to its origin, in the historical Palalido, renovated and looking like a real brand-new arena, Olimpia celebrated the start of a new season along 5.000 fans, the other team from Milan, second-division Urania, reinserted its international players and enjoyed the night before embarking on a tough road trip in Athens leading up to the effective start of the season. It was a 98-49 win over Urania in a game used to play all the players including a line-up late in the fourth with no classic point guard on the court. Michael Roll showed all his ability at shooting the ball, Kaleb Tarczewski set the tone inside early and Coach Messina was generally pleased with the way the newcomers fit immediately. Della Valle for example had a game-high seven assists. Olimpia, playing without a bruised Aaron White, used a never seen before starting line-up with Roll and Jeff Brooks. On Saturday, it will face Fenerbahce in the Athens tournament semifinal. On Sunday it will face Panathinaikos or Maccabi in an All-EuroLeague, very competitive preseason tournament.
