Olimpia struggled early in the game, going down 7-0 before Alessandro Gentile remembered everybody to take care of business. And the team responded. Oliver Lafayette found his niche, scored 11-first half points, led the comeback with Kruno Simon and an explosive Jamel McLean. Olimpia went to the locker-room up by eight, 48-40 and didn’t look back in the second half, led this time by a terrific display of energy by Gani Lawal. In the first five minutes of the hald he was everywhere with 5 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks in a matter of seconds. When Varese tried to go back into the game, because of a flagrant foul called on McLean that was used to produce a five-point possession, Robbie Hummel got on fire, made three consecutive long jumpers and closed the game. So the fourth quarter was just used to improve the chemistry.
