Seven players scored in double digit and the game was pretty much decided early in the second quarter. Olimpia took control of the much awaited game vs Varese, led wire-to-wire and closed it 96-84. But the margin was reduced to 12 points only at the buzzer while Olimpia led by as many as 28 points and Varese’s threat never materialized. Olimpia had a dominating 36-point first period. Devon Hall and Tim Luwawu-Cabarrot set the tone offensively early while the defense never let Varese’s explosive offense to get any rhythm. In the end, Milan shot 62 percent from two and 37 from three, with 11 made triples. Luwawu-Cabarrot was ejected early in the third when he was called for a flagrant foul after a techinical he got in the first half. The loss didn’t cause much trouble to Olimpia because the win was already in the bag. The margin was 25 points at the half. Coach Ettore Messina was able to share the minutes among 12 players, nobody was used less than eight minutes, Devon Hall stayed on the court for 28 minutes, with 11 points and seven assists. Brandon Davies had a 20-point game in 21 minutes, he went 8-for-11 from two. Billy Baron never missed a blink, scoring 11 points. Nicolò Melli went 4-for-4 from the field, while Kyle Hines had 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.
