Olimpia simply dominated its game against Reyer Venice, a previously league-leading team. “We had to right approach at both ends of the floor, we moved the ball, we shot well, the young guys gave us a lift coming off the bench. Bortolani is the most ready because he’s been playing more, he can score and he cam handle the ball well, he is improving defensively. Devon Hall has a lot of confidence going on for him,” Coach Ettore Messina said. It was a 95-72 beating, a win that was never discussed. Olimpia led by as many as 33 points in the fourth quarter when Messina was using the length of his bench.

The game was closed off between the end of the second quarter and the start of the third. Shavon Shields and Devon Hall were on fire, they combined for 25 points in the first half. Olimpia then started the third quarter with a 10-1 run and never had to look back. Shields and Hall finished with 19 points each, Maodo Lo was the most used player with just 24 minutes on the court, Mirotic added 12 points and Bortolani 10. Nik Melli was at his playmaking best, dishing six assists and grabbing seven rebounds. Defensively, he was everywhere.
