Once again, Olimpia was not able to finish the game in Berlin, let a 13-point third period lead vanished and was forced to play an overtime. But by then Alba had momentum and cruised to a 105-101 win. Olimpia led essentially for the length of the game with a couple of exception. After taking a 11-4 lead, with three threes Alba took a 13-11 lead that was erased immediately. In the second period at one point the score was tied at 31. Olimpia followed that momenti with a 7-0 run and led the rest of the night up to the last minute. Unable to make a single defensive stop, Alba scored at will and tied the game up at 92. The teams had one last possession each but nobody was capable to score. The overtime was controlled by Alba. “We played with a lot of superciality, we had four turnovers off entry passes. Every time we waste a lead it is beacuse of poor defense and turnovers. At this point we need to accept that probably some of the players we counted on are superficial,” Coach Ettore Messina said.
