Olimpia won concinvingly in the first game of his history in Madison Square Garden. Final score was 76-72. It was a close game that Olimpia led most of the time. Maccabi never gave up and moved ahead a couple of times in the second half but Olimpia was sharper, executed better and had a lot by a number of players. Robbie Hummel scored 14 of his 15 points in the first half, Kruno Simon had 11-first half points but in the second half was Milan Macvan who carried the team with an enormous help by Andrea Cinciarini. He was perfect from the field and from the line, led the team and was always in control. Alessandro Gentile had a difficult shooting night but was solid defensively. It was an emotional night for Olimpia in the closing game of its US Tour in front of 10.000 people. Maccabi was supported by many of them but still a lot of red shirts appeared in the stands and in the end they were rewarded by a beautiful game overall.
