Olimpia’s winning streak was interrupted at nine after a 88-85 overtime loss in Brescia, the fourth overtime loss of the season (EuroLeague included). Olimpia trailed by as many as 13 points but found a way to comeback in spite of being ice-cold from three, a trait symbolized by the crucial offensive plays: Curtis Jerrells had a potentially winning three at the end of regulation and missed; Andrew Goudelock had a potentially winning shot with the overtime possession but missed (Dada Pascolo grabbed the offensive rebound, passed it to Conciarini for a go-ahead short jumper tat was rejected). Dairis Bertans, one of the best shooters in the league, missed seven out eight threes. In spite of that Olimpia came back, forced the overtime, took the lead but couldn’t complete the job. The game was marred by an unusual mistakes made by the referees at the end of the third when Bryce Cotton made a lenght of the court three with .79 seconds left. He took the time to make one dribble essentially running out of time. Still the basket was counted. “It’s a mistake that made the guys a little nervous – Coach Pianigiani said – but ither than that we competed. After a long week of hard work we were a little fatigued but we definitely tried to win and came up just short, missing too many open jumpers”.
