Pallacanestro Olimpia EA7 Emporio Armani Milano agreed on terms with Nicolò Melli, whose contract expired last June. Melli signed a one-year contract and will play for Olimpia at least through June 30th, 2015. During the last season, he set his new personal bests in every conceivable statistic, including most points scored in a game (24, versus Roma), most rebounds grabbed (13, versus Siena, game 7 of the Italian league final), most points scored in a Euroleague game, 20 versus Zalgiris Kaunas.
Born in Reggio Emilia, in 1991, son of former player Leopoldo Melli and of the Olympics silver medalist in volley Julie Vollertsen, Melli arrived in Milano in the summer of 2010, left Olimpia on a loan in 2011 and then played three straight seasons, reached twice the league final and winning the 2014 championship. He’s a member of the Italian National Team.
