In spite of the numerous players that were missing, Olimpia had an outstanding game in Lucca, winning the local tournament after defeating Reyer Venice team 90-72 in another dominating performance. Olimpia led wire-to-wire, responded any and each time Venice tried to be threatening in both halves, was anchored by a solid defense and attacked the rim in an up-and-down night in terms of outside shooting. Vladimir Micov was named Tournament’s MVP after a final game player with an high level of efficiency. He not only scored 18 points but made sure to involve his teammates dishing six assists while also grabbing seven boards. Mike James had a 31-point night, driving left and right, getting to the line and turning a five-turnover first half into a one-turnover second half. He also had four assists. Olimpia had Jeff Brooks in its line-up after missing the previous night game because his long trip back from Detroit where he received the Italian passport. He did all the things necessary to win the games, many of them in fact. He scored, ha meda threes, he grabbed nine rebounds, had a lot of deflections.
