Setting the scene: Facts, not words. Cultural integration is not a simple matter, Italy and Egypt are miles away, by religion and culture. A father of the family, overwhelmed by his responsibilities, has no time to speak, as a father and as a man he is doing everything, so that he and his children can stay in Italy. There is no time for recreation, just work, school, results. Sport, if it can be considered feasible must be only agonism, results and talent. Luca meets the ball, the basket and with his head down he runs to score points, to get first, to show that he has talent for everything, to be accepted … who could imagine that that basketball time would have been an opportunity for such great discoveries?

Personal challenge and positive action: one evening like so many Luca has climbed on that bus with his classmates, teachers and coaches to go and see the Olimpia, to walk on the parquet trampled by actually talented men. Incredulous and silent, Luca watched this world of chorus, applause, and his eyes were full of questions; but do I have a talent? On the court of the school , Luca has discovered that he has much more than what the great champions have: a fan base all for him, teammates to look for and with whom to build great actions; he played with great champions up to heaven, took to the field to play with him, who encouraged him and made magical assists under the basket and who told him and demonstrated that talent is not only the results, but the real talent of a sportsman is never giving up … Luca today enters the court aware of having many talents that make it worthy of being acclaimed: knowing how to smile, knowing how to win and even losing, falling and then getting up again. If many people do not know how to define talent, sport increases the talent to face every day head-on, regardless of the result. Practicing a sport is the way to explore and discover one’s own talent in life, because we all have one, we just have to have the patience to discover it and accept it, just so we can feel accepted for what we are. That is the great discovery that Luca has made in the One Team Project.
