The game against Red Star represented another milestone in the legendary career of Kyle Hines. Not only for the offensive rebound field goal that closed the game, but moreover for having crossed the 300 two-point field goal mark for Olimpia in the EuroLeague. It is no small achievement, because only one player, Kaleb Tarczewski, has done it before him. Now, however, the all-time club record is close: Tarczewski has made 304 two-point field goals in his Olimpia career, but Hines yesterday reached 302. Three more field goals and he will take solitary possession of the first place overall in the club’s history (with 281 Vlado Micov is third).
It is not over yet: the next game in which he will play will be his number 100th appearances with an Olimpia jersey on. This too is an historic milestone because so far it has only been achieved by Kaleb Tarczewski (156), Nicolò Melli (136 and counting) and Vlado Micov (115). Hines is currently at 99 games played exactly like Sergio Rodriguez.
Even more relevant is that since coming to Milan, Hines has played in all of Olimpia’s games in the EuroLeague: 99 out of 99. Hines is also the third-best rebounder in Olimpia’s history. In this regard, Tarczewski’s leadership (626) is threatened now by Nicolò Melli who has 606 grabbed rebounds.
