Linas Kleiza arrived in Milano after a stellar career mostly in the United States, first to play there college ball in Missouri and then in the NBA, Denver and Toronto. He also had the opportunity to play for two top European teams, Olympiacos and Fenerbahce.
MILANO – “I’m excited to be here and play for a good team with such a great history. I’m proud to have this chance to be part of this story and hopefully I’d like to contribute to win many basketball games this year”.
THE PAST – “Last season was not as good as I expected but hopefully this one will be better. I’m definitely a product of the Lithuanian system in spite of playing many years in America. I fall in love with the game at a very early age when I obviously was in Lithuania and I come from a country with many fans and a deep passion for the game. Besides I played for many National teams. Growing up as most of my generation players my idols were Arvydas Sabonis and Sarunas MArciulionis. I don’t really know when I realized I could become a professional player but since Day one that was my dream and my goal. I really never thought about any other options”.
THE SEASON – “I’m happy to keep playing basketball at an high level and compete for the Euroleague title. That’s my only focus”.
