It’s all about the Red. In the most important night of the season, Olimpia had its best game, maybe the best of the year, dominating in Trento 96-71 and closing the Finals 4-2. It’s title number 28 for the winningest team in Italy. Olimpia attacked the game, opened up a 7-0 lead and never looked back. Trento led momentarily early in the first but Olimpia was in control with a fantastic game that put to bed all the talks, the doubts, and everything about this series. It was a terrific display of strenght and team play. Olimpia had six players in double figure led by the finals’ MVP, Andrew Goudelock, who had 21 points and 4 assists. It was really a team effort, at both ends of the floor. Every attempt by Trento to comeback was shot down. And in the fourth quarter, that Milan started with a 10-point margin, a couple of early threes silenced the crowd. Kuzminskas completed a terrific last part of the series making 5 of 6 threes; Gudaitis was a beats inside going 6 for 7 while grabbing nine rebounds, Jerrells had 12 points and six assists, Dairis Bertans made four threes. Olimpia made 18 three-pointers, was consistent in rebounding the ball, protecting the rim and limiting turnovers at 13.
