It was a fun game in Castelletto Ticino. Olimpia won 96-68 against the A2 team from Casale Monferrato and earned a trip to the final game of its first preseason tournament. Olimpia struggled at shooting the ball early in the game but improved over time, had a spectacular third period and generally showed a willingness to run, led by the lightning-fast Mike James who assisted the finishers like Kuzminskas and Brooks, and to be aggressive at the defensive end of the floor. That approach generated a lot of fastbreak opportunities, dunks and steals. Olimpia played a high number of possession game, scored 96 points and was appreciated by the fans that came over here. Mike James overcame some early struggles and had a very promising game not just in terms of scoring (although he led the team with 16 points) but also assists (five) and steals (six). But everybody did a lot of running and scoring and sacrificing on defense (Gudaitis had 5 blocks) including Della Valle, who had to play the points since Curtis Jerrells was unavailable due to a minor left fot injury, and Fontecchio who had also 4 assists.
