Billy Baron entered in the Munich game riding a streak of 12 games out of 13 with at least two made threes. In the first three EuroLeague outings he had 9-for-11 from three-point range. But against Bayern, a team very careful not to give him any light, he was unable to use his jump shot. He had scored a mid-range jumper in the first half. But in the closing possessions, he was guarded very closely on the perimeter, and he was only able to get a foul and make a free throw out of two. After the three with which Vladimir Lucic had put Olimpia on the ropes, gaining his team a two-points margin, protected a little later by Cassius Winston’s floater, Baron had the ball in his own hands in the corner in the very last offensive possession of the game. The passer, Kevin Pangos, thus had the 11th assist of his game, just one behind the team’s all-time record of 12 (Omar Cook and Mike James) and still four shy of his personal best. And Baron so was able to extend his streak of consecutive games with at least one made three hitting the biggest shot of the night. “Other times this season we went down and then came back. It was another great win against a well-coached team, in a difficult court where winning is never easy,” he explained at the end. Baron is shooting 66.7 percent from three so far. None of the players in front of him has has many attempts per game (3.8), while Nando De Colo (Asvel) has the same number of shots and the same accuracy.
