Alessandro Gentile returned from a one-game absence to give Olimpia a decisive spark early in the second quarter when EA7 turned a two-point deficit in the first period into a commanding lead. The run was 18-0. It was ignited by eight consecutive points by the Cap. Then in the third quarter, MarShon Brooks completed the job by scoring 13 points while keeping Virtus Bologna way behind. Olimpia closed the game 81-58. Carlo Fumagalli, 18, made two free throws to finish the game, for his first Serie A’s points of his young career. Brooks finished with 24, Nicolò Melli had a solid start and a great finish aftre fighting foul troubles early in the game. Olimpia won its 8th straight game in the Italian league to close the 2014 on a very high note.
