Olimpia went into a huge hole early in the game “because we didn’t get back on defense and we wasted our time talking to the referees”, Coach Repesa said. Trento was up 15-0 then 17-2. It was a nightmare. Then Alessandro Gentile returned officially. He was the one leading the rally scoring 11 points in the first half alone. Olimpia played better defense and finally was better than Trento attacking the boards. The rally was completed before halftime and the second half was way better especially from a shooting standpoint. Kruno Simon had a 2-point first half but made 14 in the second including a couple of back to back threes to break the game in halves. Olimpia struggled again in the last minute when it allowed Trento to score 9 consecutive points (two threes by Trent Lockett and one three-point play by Pascolo) to be back within three. It took five free throws to close the deal 79-71. Gentile had 17 points. Simon had 16. “I liked the score, how we came back and we reboinded the ball. But we need to eliminate silly mistakes and we approached the game lacking concentration. This attitude has to change immediately to turn this group into a winning one or tonjust close the series in Trento” said Repesa at the end.
