Eurocup is over. Nothing to add. Trento was the better team, whatever the reason, in both games. It came to Milano with a lot of energy and confidence. It took the game by storm and never looked back. Olimpia had two or three promising spurts but didn’t have the consistency on both ends of the floor. The offense was better in the first half, the defense was a little more effective late in the game. But it wasn’t enough to win the game let alone coming back from 10 down. The shooting percentages from the arc were low and Trento had the opportunity to keep the lane clogged. Sutton was outstanding and late in the game a couple of lucky possessions closed the deal for Trento. “We gave up 48 points in the first half – Coach Jasmin Repesa said – it’s unacceptable in a such important game when you need to recover from 10 down. All started there, on defense. There wasn’t enough concentration, nothing worked and we did silly mistakes. We tried and had our chance early in the third when we kept them from scoring for almost four minutes but we didn’t score ourselves. They deserved to advance. Now we need to recover the too many players struggling with their physical conditions. That’s the main point right now”.
