Born in the Bronx, Frankie Elegar is a pure product of New York City basketball. He attended St.Raymond’s High School in the Bronx and moved out of the city only to go to Drexel University. Here he talks about New York City where Olimpia will play in the Euro Classic series next October. Where he comes from – “Bronx, New York, in the Parkchester area. I spent there most of my high school years before attending college”. The best player from the Bronx? – “Actually, Kemba Walker but overall I’d say Tiny Archibald”. His favourite New York spot – “Manhattan of course, great shopping, a lot of entertainment shows, the shows they do on Broadway, the nightlife. Like they say, it’s the city that nevcer sleeps, there always a lot of thing to do in New York”. His favourite New York’s team – “The Yankess of course, I bleed blue”. The Madison Square Garden – “It’d be great to play there, it’s some years since I played there in college, for the preseason NIT Tournament. I hope my family will be there to watch me play”. Why fans should come to the Madison Square Garden Game? – “It’s an opportunity, not all the people has the chance to watch the NBA, they can get a feel for European basketball, and view it. It’s an opportunity to experience the European culture and they way we play, here in Europe”.
