Devon Hall’s walk-off home run from 10 mt. won the game for Olimpia and improved the team record in the Italian league to 3-0. Olimpia defeated Brindisi 83-82 with the buzzer beating three that closed a game Milan had led from wire to wire before going behind on a couple of late possessions. The first time, Voigtmann responded with a mid-range corner jumper, the second time Kevin Pangos with an underhanded floater tied the game up. Finally, after Marcquis Reed mid-range jumper with 2.1 seconds left, Hall won the game. He was a last-second play perfectly executed. Hall was the passer from mid-court. His in-bound pass found Voigtmann at the top of the key. The latter moved the ball back to him caught the defense by surprise. Then he made the huge shot. “We played a good first half with energy. In the second half we kept missing open shots while they made some huge threes. They are good and athletic. When they make outside shots, so far it was their main issue, Brindisi is dangerous. Devon made a great shot. A win like this is good on the eve of a long and tough road trip. We needed to make some more shots to win a little bit easily and the confidence was going to be higher. Thomas gave us a big help inside and out,” Coach Ettore Messina said. Kevin Pangos led the scorers with 21 points, Deshaun Thomas added 17 points going 6-for-8 from two, Hall had 11 points. Olimpia led by as many as 11 points, led by nine at the half but couldn’t put Brindisi aside because it lacked consistency and the percentages were a killer. Olimpia shot 7-for-26 from three including the walk-off shot made by Hall. “We also didn’t have Billy Baron. He could have helped us but he needed some rest,” Messina pointed out. Olimpia shot well from inside the arc, 58.5 percent. “We should have gone inside more,” Messina said.
