Olimpia had an outstanding defensive first half, holding Olympiacos to 25 points and after three quarters was still tied up. But in the end rotations were too short, the fatigue set in and the defense allowed 48 points to one of the best team in Europe in spite of playing without Vasilis Spanoulis and losing Matt Lojeski during the third period. 73-63 was the final score, which penalized Olimpia beyond the reality of the game. With no Alessandro Gentile and Milan Macvan, Olimpia struggled offensively but had a dominating defensive first half and benefitted also from Charles Jenkins’ 12-point first half. In the third quarter, Oliver Lafayette had back-to-back threes and Olimpia seemed on the verge of getting away, but Olympiacos after going 2/10 from three in the first half, was a lot better in the second and took away in the last five minutes.
