It was not a masterpiece but Olimpia prevailed over Ulm, a top team in the German league, 66-58 showing a lot of defensive intensity, a solid approach and the ability to control the game in spite of fatigue and all the other “diseases” that are very usual early in the preseason. All the players with the exception of Davide Pascolo were available. Cory Jefferson in his first game in Europe had a lot of energy, converted two offensive rebounds with his jumping quickness and overcame his obvious lack of stamina after returning two days earlier from the States. Goudelock led the scorers but generally the percentages were low and many open shots were missed uncharacteristically. Things like those happen when the legs are heavy. But Olimpia took control in the middle of the second and mantained it through the end, leading at one point by 15 and pushing back Ulm when it went back within six.

Milano: Theodore 5 (2/7, 0/1), Goudelock 13 (2/5, 3/9), Micov 11 (4/5, 1/5), M’Baye 10 (3/4 da tre), Tarczewski 5 (1/3), Ratkovica 6 (2/4, 0/1), Dragic 4 (2/4, 0/1), Jefferson 7 (3/4, 0/1), Fontecchio 2 (0/1), Ortner 3 (1/1), La Torre (0/1).

Ulm: Olbrecht 9, Gunther 3, Ferner 3, Pape, Lewis 21, Murry 7, Harangody 6, Fotu 9, Kramer.
