“Davide Alviti had a terrific growth during the last couple of years – Olimpia’s general manager Christos Stavropoulos said – He was one of the best Italian players, last season, and a shooter. We have a lot of confidence in his improvements and that’s why we signed him.” For Davide Alviti this is a dream come true. “I’m ecstatic, especially now looking at my name on the back of this jersey. It is incredible. It is a feeling I have had since my first day here.”.

ON HIS PERSPECTIVE- “During my career I’ve tried to improve and make a step up a little bit every year. I’ve never looked too far ahead. I experienced more difficult times than good times. But I feel fortunate. Basketball is passion to us and a obsession for some guys. In life nothing is coming easy. I’m here to keep improving. My family will be on my side as always. When I got the Olimpia call it took two or three days just to realized what was really going to happen.”

THE DATOME COMPARISONS – “He’s been a player I looked up to for a long time. I was in Rome when he was having his MVP season and I stayed to watch him workout. I tried to emulate him. When he said that I reminded him of himself that was huge. And then Coach Messina made the same comparison. I’m thankful for it. I take it as a motivation to improve.”

PLAYING NEXT TO LEGENDARY PLAYERS- “Every morning I step in the locker room and all that I see is players who made the EuroLeague history. I’ve always tried to take something from the best and this year I guess that I will take a lot more than in the past. I’m especially fond of playing next to Kyle Hines. I have been at some of his games when he was a rookie in Veroli, a place close to where I’m from, Alatri. And now we are together.”

GOALS – “Team goals and individual goals are coming together. Team goals are more relevant. For me personally I want to make sure that I give 120 percent of what I got every single day. At the end of the season that awareness will make me satisfy. Nothing less. As a team, we’ll be part of four different competitions. We know it is going to be hard. But we have everything that we need. Here there’s always a teammate ready to support you, a coach ready to give you a tip. It is nice.”
