With 48.6 percent, Bertans leads the league in three-point shooting accuracy. Only, we’re talking about the NBA and Bertans is Davis, Dairis’ younger brother. After his 4 for 9 shooting on Thursday night, however, the Olimpia’s bomber leads the EuroLeague in the same category with an amazing 54.7 percent. That two brothers lead the same shooting category in the two most competitive leagues in the world is not a rare feat. It is a unique feat. Doing it at the same time is even more amazing.

Dairis had his seventh double-digit game, against Zalgiris, tying the 17 points that he scored against Buducnost. The seven fouls that he draws, while attacking off the dribble with great energy, represent his new personal best. The old one was six fouls received two years ago when he played for Darussafaka. Bertans is the most accurate three-point shooter, but in the category’s top 15 he is also the one with the highest number of threes made after the 42 that Anthony Randolph of Real Madrid has made. It is another sign that Bertans is indeed achieving its status as Europe’s No. 1 long-distance shooter. At this time he is in 10th “All-Time”, but of the nine in front of him only two have a higher number of attempts, Cory Higgins of CSKA and Jon Diebler from Darussafaka. Bertans is 47.1 percent shooter for his career.

Born in 1989, on September 9, in Valmiera, Latvia, Bertans began to play in his native town before moving to ASK Riga in 2006 (in 2009 he helped the team winning the Latvian championship). He stayed in Riga until 2009, then he played for Ventspils and moved to VEF Riga in 2010. With VEF he won three consecutive Latvian titles before transferring abroad for the first time in 2013 to play in Bilbao (in 2015/16, he averaged 15.5 points per game during the Eurocup competition, making 48.5% of his threes), and eventually in Darussafaka Istanbul making his EuroLeague debut. Last season he led the Italian league in three-point shooting during the playoffs.
