Coach Simone Pianigiani talked about the upcoming EuroLeague road game in Gran Canaria before leaving Milan after the last practice. Nemanja Nedovic and Kaleb Tarczewski won’t be available; Arturas Gudaitis (flu), Andrea Cinciarini (thigh) and Mike James (elbow) should be receovered. Olimpia will feature also the newcomer James Nunnally. “Gran Canaria was capable to win in Milan and it’s the fastest Euroleague teams. They are constantly looking to score on the break, in transition, shooting in the very few seconds of each possession. We need the mental toughness necessary to control the tempo, don’t accept a run-and-gun kind of game, take good shots in order to get back on defense quickly so our defense can be set. We have some individual situations to check, including Nunnally who has the experience and maturity to immediately play although a EuroLeague game takes a couple of weeks of adjustments to fit. Our goal is to play a solid road game because at so late in the regular season we want to keep competing for a playoffs’s spot right through the end”.
