Andrea Cinciarini has been profiled this week on Euroleague Tv about his childhood hero Alphonso Ford, the man after the scoring championship trophy was named in the Euroleague. Cinciarini was just 17 when he started to play with Pesaro’s first team whose star was Ford. “He taught me a lot of lessons. He wanted me to play up to my capabilities and not worry about the other great players I played with, like him, Sasha Djordjevic or Marko Milic. especially Cinciarini remembered when Ford abruptly had to retire because of leukemia in late stages and the message he delivered for his Pesaro fans a short time before he died. “He said to keep on fighting. He was heartbreaking”, Andrea says.
