Armoni Brooks scored 28 points in 24 minutes, plagued by foul troubles, two in the first half, another one early in the third quarter, made six threes and went absolutely crazy at the end when single-handedly brought Olimpia back in contention. However, his effort was not enough in a 98-92 loss caused by a defensive subpar game. Olimpia lost control of it late in the first quarter and throughout the seconf period, went behind by as many as 16 points before going to the halftime break down by 15. The fist assault of the second half was frustrated by foul troubles, some clutch plays made by Brescia’s experienced players, Nikola Ivanovic, Amedeo Della Valle, Miro Bilan and Jason Burnell, whoe low post game from the small forward spot was a problem not solved anytime in the game. In the fourth quarter, Olimpia got into some rhythm, Ricci fouled out, Guduric fouled out, but Brooks was doing his best Stephen Curry impersonation. His show was not enough, because at least three times a missed shot was corrected via offensive rebounds and once Ndour and twice Bilan killed Olimpia’s comeback. “With LeDAy out, Ricci with fouls, we tried to go big but they clogged the middle with Bilan and we didn’t have any room offensively, so we were forced to go small and the result at the end was getting killed by offensve rebounds down the stretch. They cost us the game,” Coach Ettore Messina said pointing out to a first half lackng determination and intensity.
