For the second straight Italian league game, Armoni Brooks scored 20 points and led the scorers in the Olimpia 89-82 win over Napoli. It was a tough night because Napoli, with nothing to lose, played hard and never conceded the win and more than that Olimpia started the game with heavy absences including Coach Ettore Messina’s one (sickness) and lost Shavon Shields a couple of minutes into the game (groin injury). However, the Italian players gave the team a big lift. Diego Flaccadori scored 11 points and added five assists; Giordano Bortolani made three threes and Willie Caruso was instrumental in the first half (eight points, 4-for-4 from the field). Olimpia attempted to get away several times, but somehow Napoli stayed in the game. Shooting over 60 percent from two was huge and so was the second half three point shooting. After going 1-for-6 in the first, Olimpia made six bombs in the second part of the game overcoming Napoli’s effort.
