Be like Mike! Mike James became the eighth Olimpia player to win the “MVP of the week” award in the EuroLeague. Before him there was Mike Hall (2008/09), Omar Cook (2011/12), Curtis Jerrells (2013/14), Samardo Samuels and Alessandro Gentile (2014/15) and – with the current EuroLeague format – Jamel McLean in 2015/16 against Efes and Ricky Hickman in 2016/17 against Maccabi. The award is given on a statistical basis to the player with the highest rating among those who have won the game. Mike James has achieved 31 points of rating, so exceeding the 30 of Kostas Sloukas of Fenerbahce. It is the first time for Mike James, who was already named MVP of the month of February and leads the EuroLeague in points per game and rating, he is second for assists and fifth for steals per game. Against Olympiacos, he scored 27 points with six assists and 4/9 from three including a spectacular four-point play.
