Olimpia Milano left today for Istanbul where tomorrow will play the first Euroleague game of the season. Historically, Olimpia is 5-1 against Fenerbahce and was able to sweep the last season series. But this game is going to be very tough against one of the most ambitious teams of the competition.
Coach Luca Banchi had this to say before the last Milano’s practice: “The first game is immediately a very difficult one. They come from a disappointing Euroleague season and will try to start the new on a high note. From our part, we need to play with personality, courage and the right amount of organization because this is the only way to keep the tempo of the game and the emotions under control”
Linas Kleiza played for Fenerbahce last year: “I play against my former team but in reality this is just a game. An important one because the group is very competitive and we need to come together as a team as fast as possible. I think we have a great potential and there’s room for improvement but there’s also a lot of work to be done”
