Alex Poythress and Ismael Kamagate will allow Olimpia to have great depth and a variety of options up front. “They increase our level of physicality a lot – the general manager Christos Stavropoulos said – Poythress obviously has a great career behind him and has won a lot, Kamagate is a young guy who we believe can grow a lot staying with us”.
ALEX POYTHRESS – “Choosing Milan was easy: after having played for a couple of EuroLeague teams I chose the situation that guarantees me the best chance to compete at the highest level. Billy Baron helped recruit me and having played with him and Kevin Pangos will help me a lot. When you go to a new team you have to start from the scratch, build the chemistry, here I can start from something. I found Pangos as I had left him in St. Petersburg, he is a natural leader, like a second coach. I think he’ll have a better season. Mentally he seems to be in a good place. Here there are many players in my positions, the minutes are not promised to anyone, but I have never held back. Practices will distribute the minutes, Coach Messina will take care of it.”

ISMAEL KAMAGATE – “I’m happy to be here because I will play every day in practice against some great players and I will have the chance to learn. At my age I have to improve in everything but especially in defense, to understand which is the correct position. The opportunity to play for a coach like Ettore Messina is the best way to improve. I played against Olimpia during the pre-season two years ago in Paris. I know the club and the coach. For me it was crucial not so much to have certain minutes but to have the minutes that I will be able to earn because they will be worth much more.”
