Armoni Brooks stole the show in Cremona’s Monday Night with an impressive game. He scored 31 points, went 7-for-10 on threes and made two thunderous dunks in the process showing his two-way game. Olimpia defeated Vanoli 95-83, leading for the vast majority of the game. The biggestlead was 18 points late in the second quarter. Cremona went all-out in the third reduced the gap and was able to take a one-point lead twice in the fourth. But Olimpia finished better. “We felt the fatigue a little bit in the third period after a game that we played well overall – Coach Ettore Messina said – we didn’t have two point guards, Shavon Shields returned with very limited playing time, we were coming off a demanding EuroLeague week, playing on the road again against an aggressive team. Diego Flaccadori amde a big play in the fourth when he intercepted a cross-court pass and went off on the break. Nikola Mirotic added 17 points in 23 minutes; Pippo Ricci was huge with 11 points and nine rebounds, he touched a lot of balls; Zach LeDay had 11 points. But the night belonged to Brooks.
He missed the first three against the zone defense implemented by Cremona early in the game. Then, he was a monster.
