After a promising start to the game, 20-9, Olimpia gradually surrendered in Reggio Emilia in a 87-78 loss. “We had some good moments but any time we had to take some guys out, we struggled, and finally they got fatigued. We had to ask too much to a limited number of players because of the situation we are in. Now, we’ll play less and hopefully we’ll recover some of the players we are missing,” Coach Ettore Messina said. Mirotic and Brooks carried the load offensively, Tonut had a great two-way game and Nico Mannion tried to phsu the tempo up. But overall it wasn’t enough. “We struggled to contain the phisycality of their guards, their isolation plays. We didn’t have any phisycality with our perimeter players. So, coming off a game two day earlier, in our conditions, probably we couldn’t do more,” Messina remarked.
