For 12 minutes it was a game very similar to the one Olimpia won the night before against Varese. A high-scoring game, a lot of transition basketball and great accuracy form the field (62.5 percent in the first period). But after building a 16-point lead, with 32 points scored over 12 minutes, Olimpia lost its sharpness, the shooting percentages went down (42 percent at the end) and gradually lost control. Sassari never led before the fourth quarter, but when Olimpia really struggle to score, Bendzius got on fire, made two straight threes and in a matter of a couple of possession it was Dinamo’s turn to put its hands on the game. Olimpia’s attempt to comeback, after a Mitrou-Long corner three, didn’t have a chance to succeed because three consecutive open threes were definitely in and out. Sassari won 75-66 and conquered the Cagliari summer tournament. Olimpia was missing eight players, seven are busy with the European championship and Shavon Shields, because of a foot injury didn’t play. The next game will be played on Thursday at 8:00 pm in Desio against Varese.
