Olimpia came back from 16 down in the third quarter, got up by three, never gave up but still lost a close one in Istanbul, 83-80. The final few possessions were heart-breaking including a three by Koksal to put Galatasaray up by five, a lucky bounce, a foul call on an offensive rebound that came very late and finally the potential winner by Rakim Sanders that hit the rim and bounce out. Olimpia tried to survive a tough first half and also a bad start early in the third quarter and almost did it thanks to Ricky Hickman, Rakim Sanders and in the end two huge three-pointers by Kruno Simon. But it had a hard time containing Vladimir Micov, Blake Schilb and the energy of Alex Tyus, overwhlmed also by foul troubles and the absence of two players, Milan Macvan and the Captain, Andrea Cinciarini, who suffered with nausea and flu and had to sit at the end of the bench.
