It wasn’t a Picasso or a beautiful win but it was a win obtained by playing tough basketball at least in spurts trying to use the defense to sustain the offense obviously struggling because of too many absences. Olimpia had an outstanding degensive first quarter over Brindisi then played in spurts, struggled in the fourth to keep the lead, with fatigue and foul problems. But a couple of great plays by Kruno Simon, an offensive board by Stanko Barac and with some difficulties Olimpia won 77-72 keeping the lead in the Italian league at 9-3. The won was the number 39 at home in Italian league play. “We were tied, we faced a good and jmproved team and winning was the most important factor of the night. Mission accomplished even in a game we definitely didn’t play up to our capabilities” Coach Repesa said at the end.
