If you want to look deep there were 16 turnovers, some of them unforced, and a 10-for-18 free-throw shooting night. Other than that, Olimpia’s game in Reggio Emilia was simply huge, a 93-61 triumph that was never in doubt. Olimpia hit the ground running, went up 7-0, 17-4, and from that point on the game was safe. The defense never stopped using its intensity, the third period was the only one the offense showed some signs of fatigue, but in the fourth quarter – no matter who was on the court – Olimpia was at its absolute best. Coach Messina decided before the game to rest Leandro Bolmaro and Devin Booker and welcomed the return of Josh Nebo and Zach LeDay. Both with minute restrictions. Nebo played with his customary energy from start to finish (10 points, six rebounds). Again, it was a collective effort. Nico Mannion led the scorers in the firts half; Armoni Brooks, scoreless in the first period despite starting, had four point in the first half and finished with 20 points. He let the game coming to him and he delivered once again. Quinn Ellis had his all-around game, finishing with seven points, five rebounds and six assists. But Coach Messina pointed out at the end to the contributions of the second unit. Stefano Tonut played at his best, no turnover, three steals, 3-for-4 from the field; Leonardo Totè made strides since his tentative debut against Venezia and played next to Ousmane Diop at some point. Olimpia shot almost 69 percent on twos, 10-for-18 on threes and dished 23 assists.
