A 29-point career night in the Italian league by Sergio Rodriguez propelled Olimpia over Brescia for its 17th win of the season. Olimpia had to win the game twice, because a 18-point second quarter lead was gradually erased by Brescia. In the third quarter, after an array of three-pointers, Brescia took even the lead briefly on a David Moss’ three. Olimpia responded quickly and then exploded opening a twenty-point margin in the fourth.

“Brescia was very much alive and very physical, we complicated our job by ourselves after building the big lead, it wasn’t unexpected, we paid a little bit the post-Moscow fatigue, but overall, for a huge portion of the game, we played well,” Coach Ettore Messina said.

Rodriguez made six threes, including a four-point play, but generally Olimpia as a team had an outstanding offensive game, with 13-for-26 from three-point range. With five players scoring in double-figure, Olimpia converted 64 percent of its two-pointers, too. Jeff Brooks added eight rebounds and three blocked shots to his 14-point game. He was also perfect from the field, making all five of his attempts. Shavon Shields added 15, Zach LeDay scored 14 and Vlado Micov 10. Brescia, however, was very aggressive througout the game, made ten threes, all in the last three quarters, was very accurate from the line, making 22 of 25 attempts, and was a tough out for Olimpia.
