A 27-point second half, determined by Red Star suffocating and physical defense, by a bad shooting night from the perimeter and obviously by too many key players missing, eventualli doomed Olimpia 77-67 at home. Milan found a way to score 40 points in the first half, leading by one, but the third quarter was lethal, since the team managed to score only 10 points and went down by seven. In the fourth quarter, Olimpia tried on several situations to come back, but didn’t have the shooting to do that. On top of missing Arturas Gudaitis and Vlado Micov, Nemanja Nedovic joined the injured list at halftime (left thigh, to re-evaluated). “Some guys were experiencing a bad night, others were missing and that forced us to use the pick and roll and nothing else, we didn’t go inside enough, we didn’t have enough, while Red Star was solid, physical and orchestrated the offense well behind Lorenzo Brown. When players are missing, everybody has to step up, that’s obvious,” Coach Ettore Messina said at the end.
