Olimpia took control of the Supercup semifinal late in the first quarter, built a 13-point lead that was reduced to five at the half, then hit the knock-out punch early in the third with a tremendous 17-0 run. Brescia was defeated 81-59 because of a great team defense, a superior rebounding game and three-point shooting. Nemanja Nedovic made six of his eight three-pointers. The second half was pretty much over after five minutes. Nedovic scored 23 points, Mike James made some huge plays, Arturas Gudaitis added nine points to his 11 rebounds game. Vlado Micov was instrumental and Jeff Brooks grabbed eight boards himself. Olimpia conquered its fifth straight Supercup final. Turin will be the opponent and it’s a first-time. “We weere able to play over out mistakes because at this point of the season it’s impossible to speak the same language with the preseason that we had. But we wanted to try to win, play defense and in the second half we weren’t superficial like tin hte second quarter when we let them coming back”, Coach Simone Pianigiani said. “Tomorrow’s game will be different, Turin plays a beautiful style, they run a lot, they are different so it’s going to be difficult to prepare. The mental aspect will be crucial”, the Coach explained.
