Another game was lost after playing well or very well, building a 14-point lead in the third quarter. Olimpia failed to close out the game, suffering one-on-one situations from the opposing guards and then allowing too many offensive rebounds (the overall difference was 38-27 for the final score of 102-96). It’s unofrtunate because on a court where Valencia is now 15-3, Olimpia played an excellent game at times, hitting 12 three-pointers and dishing out 19 assists, 18 over three quarters and only one in the fourth. The first three quarters were exceptional, but the final period generated only 13 points and proved fatal. Unfortunately, it’s been the whole story of this EuroLeague. Olimpia several times executed well its game plan but lost control in a few minutes.
